Terms and Conditions – General
Greys Direct welcomes you to the www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk website Terms and Conditions page. The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to ensure that your best interests as a Customer are preserved and that, similarly, our status as the Seller is reasonably protected. By using this website you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions alters or reduces your statutory rights as a consumer, or otherwise.Before you place an order, if you have any questions relating to these Terms and Conditions, please contact us by e-mail or telephone us between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
These Terms and Conditions, throughout, apply to all orders placed using our website www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk and any orders placed with us by telephone or mail. Please read them carefully before placing your order.
The cheeses we sell are artisan products and weights vary from cheese to cheese. When a portion of cheese is cut from a larger piece, it is done by hand and weights will vary accordingly. We always try to ensure that if one piece is light, another is generous to compensate.
If a chosen cheese is unavailable at the time of despatch we reserve the right to pick an alternative, preferably similar cheese of the same value or greater.
Seller and Customer - Definitions
The Seller is Greys Direct LLP, trading as Greys Cheese Direct, registered in England and Wales, Partnership No.OC395652, with VAT registration No. 198322774 (“Greys Direct”, “Greys Cheese Direct”, “we”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (of which the Security and Privacy Policy form an integral part) apply to all orders which you, the Customer (“you” or “your”) place using the website, www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk for items ordered, utilising the internet.Ordering and Registration.
Once you have placed an order online or by telephone, it is classified as an offer. By proceeding through the checkout process and confirming acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, by ticking the ‘Accept’ box, you have formally accepted these Terms and Conditions. At this stage, you are making a formal offer to purchase Goods which, if accepted by the Seller, results in a binding contract between us.The Seller may choose not to accept an order, for any reason.
The nature of the Seller’s business is such that from time to time Goods may not be available, due to factors beyond the Seller’s control. Where the Goods ordered by the Customer are not available, the Seller reserves the right to substitute similar Goods to and of equivalent or greater value. If this is not possible, we will contact the Customer to discuss a replacement. If we are unable to contact the Customer, the order will be deemed to be cancelled, and a full refund will be given, if the Customer has already paid for the Goods.
If the Customer decides to register with Greys Cheese Direct to purchase Goods, the Customer will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account user name and password, for preventing unauthorised access to their account, and agrees to accept responsibility for all activities that may occur under their account or password.
Price and Payment
The price of the Goods shall be that stated on the Greys Cheese Direct website, in GBP sterling.The weight of the Goods on the website is indicative only. Many of the Goods are handmade and, as such, weights and sizes may vary.
Where applicable, prices are inclusive of VAT. Receipts for VAT are available, on request.
The price does NOT include delivery charges. These are quoted separately.
Although we try to ensure that all prices on the Greys Cheese Direct website are accurate at all times, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of items that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible, when you can either accept the revised

Goods may vary in appearance from the images on the website. Images are for indicative purposes only. The Greys Cheese Direct website and its content including all text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, data and software. The software used in connection with the Greys Cheese Direct website is our property, or that of our suppliers, and copyright, trademark and data base rights, and any other intellectual property rights are protected.Rights of the Seller
The Seller reserves the right to adjust the price and specification of any item on the www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk website, at its own discretion.The Seller reserves the right to withdraw any goods detailed on the www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk website at any time.
The Seller shall not be liable to anyone for withdrawing any Goods from the www.greyscheesedirect.co.uk website, or for refusing to process an order placed via this website, or by telephone or mail.
Warranty
The Seller warrants that the Goods will, at the time of despatch, correspond to the description given by the Seller. All other warranties, conditions, or terms relating to the fitness for the purpose, merchantability or condition of the Goods, whether implied by Statute, Common Law, or otherwise, are excluded, unless the Seller is satisfied as to the suitability of the Goods for the Customer’s purposes.Delivery
All delivery information is for UK only, we may be able to ship further afield by arrangement but it will take longer and cost more. Please emai for information.
Orders placed online for deliver outside the UK are not valid and will not be fulfilled.

on our website The Seller aims to deliver all orders within 3 working days, subject to stock availability. Delivery times are for guidance, and are not a guarantee.
Deliveries are sent from Monday – Thursday overnight from the Seller, on a next day delivery basis (arriving on Tuesday – Friday).
Your delivery will need to be signed for, so in order for your Goods to be received in optimum condition, please ensure that there is someone present at the delivery address to accept and sign receipt for your order on the due delivery day.
Preferred delivery dates can be specified in the comments on the checkout page, and the Seller undertakes to conform with this date, as far as is reasonably possible.

Delivery to certain parts of the British Isles may present difficulties, due to their remote location, so delivery cost and time may vary in those situations.
In any event, time of delivery shall not be an inflexible aspect of our contract, and whilst the Seller will exercise best efforts to meet an estimated delivery date, the Seller shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred by the Customer, or any third party, arising, either directly or indirectly, out of any failure to meet the estimated delivery date. Similarly, the Seller will not be held liable for any deterioration of the perishable Goods, in the event of non-delivery, due to absence of Seller receipt for the Goods.
In the event that considerations of delivery may present problems, the Seller reserves the right to refuse orders from any Customer. In such cases the Customer will be advised of the reasons for the declined order.
Returns and Refunds
Returns will only be accepted if the Goods are received in a damaged condition. The Customer should inspect the Goods and advise the Seller within 24 hours by email.Similarly, if you are dissatisfied with your order, in any respect, please contact us to discuss the issue. We may ask you to return the goods in their original packaging, for replacement or refund.
10. Cancellation Rights
In respect of perishable Goods, you do not have the right to cancel the contract. This is because Goods (foodstuffs) will have been customised upon receipt of your order, and will already be in the delivery phase.In the event of non-perishable Goods, you have the right to cancel the contract within 7 days of receipt of the Goods, by notifying us by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Non-perishable Goods must be returned at the Customer’s expense, within 7 working days. The Seller will credit the Buyer with the price of the returned goods, if they are intact and in their unopened, original packaging, less £10.00 to cover administration costs. If you cancel your order, prior to despatch from the Seller, we will cancel the order and refund you fully.
11.Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will restrict our liability for death or personal injury arising out of our negligence, nor will any of the Terms and Conditions restrict your statutory rights.In addition to Clause 7 above, we will not be deemed to be in breach of contract or of these Terms and Conditions, as a result of any delay in our performance or failure to perform our obligations, if that delay or failure to perform is due to any cause or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to fire, flood and other acts of God, strikes, riots, accident, disruption to energy supplies, civil commotion, acts of terrorism or war. Other than as set out above, our maximum liability arising out of any order for the supply of Goods to you under this contract will be limited to the retail price of the Goods contained in that order.
