Banon is a French, soft, unpasteurised, goats cheese.

A very pretty little goats cheese, wrapped in autumn chestnut leaves and tied up with raffia.

Banon is both sweet and strong, herbaceous and woody.  The cheese is dipped in Eau de Vie before its leafy packaging.  It is an extremely ancient cheese from the South of France and goes beautifully with dry white wines of the region.
