Epoisses is a French, washed rind, soft, unpasteurised cheese.

One of our more "fragrant" cheeses!  Epoisses is washed in Marc de Bourgogne and salt water which gives it a pungent aroma, a strong flavour and a wonderful orange hue.

When ripe it oozes near the rind but retains a slightly chalky core.  It has been reported that Epoisses has been banned from the Paris Metro due to its stinkiness but we think this may be an urban myth.
